The department
The Global Proposal teams are a central function within global distribution, servicing both
retail and institutional sales teams globally for the following asset classes: equities, fixed
income, hedge funds, absolute return funds and multi-asset.
Individuals work closely with all areas of the business so that our clients have the ability to
make decisions to invest through the medium of bespoke proposals
and on-going due diligence documents.

Overview of the role
The team is responsible for the creation of pitch/tender and due diligence materials for our
fixed income, equity and hedge fund products across both wholesale and institutional
distribution teams globally. You will take responsibility for all management aspects of the
team and assist, where needed, with the completion of more complex RFP documents.
You will have exposure to a wide range of departments within the business and you will
need to maintain excellent relationships with sales teams and stakeholders so that all
deadlines are met.

Duties and responsibilities
You will:
• Manage all aspects of the RFP process from receipt of RFP to delivery back to the
client
• Review new RFP requests, identify any capacity issues, and negotiate deadlines with
business partners as needed
• Ensure work is assigned appropriately amongst the team and deadlines achieved
• Mentor/lead proposal writers in the preparation of compelling, strategic proposals,
including quality control and timeline adherence
• Facilitate pre-meet meetings that include internal stakeholders from sales,
investment desks, data teams, etc.
• Review processes and procedures to ensure the team operates efficiently
• Peer and compliance review proposal writer’s work
• Set objectives and conduct appraisals for the team
• Coordinate introductory meetings and training for new team members
• Ensure that the RFP database is kept up to date with recent responses
• Respond to regular and ad hoc requests from the sales and client teams
• Ensure appropriate and clear language is used in accordance with the Henderson
literature principles, for product documentation and disclosures
• Ensure as far as possible that disclosures, i.e. investment objectives and policies,
and respective risk disclosures are reflected consistently within product
documentation and across like products (where jurisdictional regulations permit)
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities
• Manage a team of 3-5 RFP writers
Technical skills and qualifications

• Experience managing a team
• RFP experience within an asset management company
• Experience of completing both retail and institutional documents
• Experience across different asset classes; equities, fixed income and absolute
return/hedge funds
• Educated to degree level
• Strong English, Mathematics, Finance and/or Economics qualifications
• Strong writing skills and competent use of grammar
• Computer literate (advanced Word and Excel)

At a minimum the role will require you to:
