Role: Business Support Executive 
Positions: Permanent 
Salary: £36,000

Overview of the role:

Risk & Control
  • Champion the risk culture in the team.
  • Assist the Business Partner with the tracking of risk & audit issues and other action plans.
  • Work with the Business Partner to develop robust procedures to ensure they are fit for purpose (to internal & regulatory standards), documented, understood & embedded.
  • Undertake the First Line of Defence (FLOD) testing, ensuring remedial action is taken. Collating the MI from the testing to provide data to the teams on trends and issues. Proactively looking at the trends and taking appropriate action to resolve issues identified.
  • Ensure that the FLOD tests remain suitable and effective, and make any changes in line with the agreed process.
  • Communicate any risk and compliance changes to the team.

Planning & business improvement

  • Assist with internal functional projects as required and local continuous improvement.
  • Work with the Business Partner to ensure all change is delivered & embedded in line with time, quality and cost parameters.

Service quality

  • Assist with collation of SLA and KPI data to monitor effectiveness of delivery.
  • Coordinate with relevant areas of the Bank to deliver seamless client service.
  • Become a champion of the brand and related standards.

Team admin

  • Collate, prepare and distribute appropriate briefing materials for key deliverables, ensuring that appropriate follow-up actions are taken.
  • Help develop & maintain relevant intranet & website content.
  • Co-ordinate with the Business Support Managers to produce the functional MI and reporting packs for Committee meetings

Financial control

  • Ensure that any agreed deliverables for projects or business as usual changes are completed within any agreed budgets.


  • Responsible for managing risks inherent to the role by diligently observing internal policies and procedures. 
Key skills required:
  • Wealth Management knowledge and experience required.
  • Good understanding of the risk and compliance environment.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written & spoken communication skills. Ability and confidence to deal effectively and professionally with people across the business.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work in a methodical, logical and accurate fashion. Must be conscientious and diligent in their work to ensure high levels of accuracy.
  • Excellent time management, organizational & administrative skills, ability to work under pressure, responsible, proactive, dedicated and consistently able to achieve results. Remains motivated and confidential at all times.
  • Attention to detail, quality, and high standards.
  • Flexible working style, ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Sense of urgency when required.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with a positive attitude.
  • Capable of working under pressure and using own initiative and with some supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously whilst remaining flexible, proactive and efficient.
  • Aptitude for learning and willingness to develop & expand role where required.
