Alex 'Sweets' Sweetingham

(Managing Consultant)

Alex Sweetingham joined William Rose Associates in January 2018 with 5 years of recruitment experience in the banking and finance sector and nearly 10 years of direct industry experience in the same arena.

Alex began his career with IFDS and then moved to Close Brothers and quickly progressed into a leadership position.  He then moved to HSBC on their Prime Brokerage platform. This would go on to service some market wide known Hedge Funds. Involvement allowed him to extend his industry knowledge around banking operations, functions, systems, processes and projects.

After a few years in the PB space, Alex had aspirations to utilise his skills and experience in a different capacity and joined Robert Half International, a globally recognised recruitment business. He quickly learnt the craft of recruitment and his background enabled him to excel, resulting in his enrolment to a nationally recognised scheme built for high achievers that were new to the industry.  It was at RHI that Alex met Josh.  They formed a strong working relationship and a friendship working closely together on the RHI Banking Operations Permanent desk.

After 2 successful years at RHI, Alex was headhunted to join Eximius, a smaller organisation, enabling to him to focus on his recruitment skills and grow as a consultant. Alex’s 3 year tenure at Eximius saw him regularly rewarded with promotions, high achievers dinners and trips abroad. He became an integral part of the senior recruitment team, assisting new joiners, mentoring and providing new business ideas and approaches.
