Job Title: Investment Operations Director

Location: London

Role Overview:

William Rose Associates are working alongside a well-respected Asset Management firm who are looking to grow their Investment Operations department and welcome a Director to join the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and oversee cash/asset accounting and data responsibilities for assigned global accounts covering complex asset classes. Serve as a subject matter expert for confirming accurate cash and holdings for timely investing. This includes daily transaction activity, security positions, cash balances, market values, etc.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls/procedures to safeguard the accuracy and integrity of investment accounting data.
  • Work in partnership with the Reconciliation team to make sure all records are accurate and reconciled with client and custodial books and records. Oversee and quickly resolve any applicable breaks or non-reconciled cash/positions through active ownership of any unresolved discrepancies.
  • Address all reconciliation, accounting and account related requests from investment teams and other stakeholders with prioritization and speedy resolution.
  • Interact with client teams/reporting,
  • Support global investment initiatives through participation in projects, development and implementation of new initiatives, process reviews and/or system enhancements.
  • Interface with internal and external personnel including senior operations staff, legal, relationship management, IT, brokers, custodians, portfolio managers, traders, regulatory agencies and/or industry contracts to educate, provide direction, obtain information, and resolve problems.
  • Understand upstream and downstream processes that impact cash and asset accuracy and usage.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the areas of accounting, technical functions, research of issues, critical thinking, problem solving, independent decision making and effective communication.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required supporting our global operating model.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5+  years of experience in investment accounting, with a strong understanding of financial instruments (including derivatives), valuation methods, and accounting standards. Knowledge of financial services and investment related terminology preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial services / investment products and services, securities processing and information technology required. 
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills required.
