Job Title: Team Lead - Operations Systems

Location: London (hybrid) 

Role Overview:

William Rose Associates have teamed up with a well-established Brokerage based in London who are currently searching for a Team Leader to manage the Operations Systems team who are responsible for the ongoing maintenance and support for systems used by the company's Commodity Operations department. This role includes working closely with various external vendors to maintain the service levels required, constant review of processes in place to identify and implement enhancements, as well as ensuring accuracy of static data within the systems the team is responsible for.


Strategy and development – Work with management to develop and execute on strategies related to the applications supported by the Operations Systems department, including but not limited to, upgrade cycles, improvement in system capabilities and business continuity plans.

Team Leadership - Work with management to provide leadership, guidance and direction to Operations Systems Analysts, to foster a culture of innovation with the goal of continuous improvement to processes and controls under the scope of the Operations Systems department.

Managing a team of Operations Systems Analysts to execute on the following objectives:
  • Maintaining client/contract/product static data.
  • Periodic review of data to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Co-ordination of testing and upgrade of systems integral to the SFL Commodity Operations department. These systems will include internal developed/hosted applications, as well as those provided by 3rd parties such as external vendors, Exchanges and Clearing Houses.
  • To assist and work with other departments to improve and implement processes to ensure compliance with ongoing regulatory requirements.
  • To support trade flow from point of execution through to the client statement.
  • To keep all processes under management fully documented with updated written procedures available for review at all times.
  • To improve current processes within the department to reduce manual touch and time, and to increase accuracy and efficiency.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Advanced education or professional certifications are a plus.
  • Previous experience in derivatives operations, preferably within a financial institution or capital markets environment.
  • Familiarity with industry platforms and systems used in derivatives operations (e.g., trade matching platforms, collateral management systems).
  • Knowledge of XTP and its various modules preferred.
  • Strong understanding of derivatives, including futures and options, as well as their associated lifecycle events, from execution through to settlement.
  • Strong desire to step into a management position after experience within an Operations role.
